Woodrow Wilson Fortner, Jr.

Mr. Woodrow Wilson Fortner, Jr., 76, of 548 Pleasant Green Drive, Inman went to be with his Lord Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 while his family was close at his side.
Mr. Fortner was born in Spartanburg on February 25, 1932, the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Pearly Mae Johnson Fortner. He was the husband of Greta Suddeth Fortner. In addition to his wife, other survivors include his three children, Ricky Fortner, Charlotte Jolly and husband Johnny, and Renee Burger and husband Dean; three step children, Johnny Moore and wife Susan, Steve Moore and wife Lori, Karen Clark and husband Rodney, two brothers, Jack Fortner and his wife Martha of Chesnee and Roger Fortner of Spartanburg, extended step children, Sherri and Terry Meadows, eight grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, three extended step grandchildren, several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Gail Kelly, a granddaughter, Emily Fortner and a step son, Barry Moore. He was a member of Lake Cooley Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in the Korean War. He retired from Beverage Air.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lake Cooley Baptist Church at 10:00am on Saturday, November 1st conducted by Rev. Donnan Lawson and Rev. Joe White. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
