Winton M. Mathis

Winton Marion Mathis, 73, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away,Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Winton was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on September 26, 1944, a son of the late Marion Mathis and Clara Lucille Hall Mathis.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Winton was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and a retired employee of Garrett & Garrett Contracting.
Winton is survived by two daughters, Angela Mathis Wyke and her husband, Ricky, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Whitney Mathis, of Inman, South Carolina; a step - daughter, Erica Gary, of Inman, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jennifer Kennedy; Allison Winkler and her husband, Mark; Madison Griffin; Tyler Twitty - Hill; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Kennedy and Kinsley Winkler. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Clyde Ledford of West Columbia, South Carolina; four nephews, Brian Ledford of Powdersville, South Carolina; Dale Ledford of Kinard, South Carolina; Chris Ledford of Anderson, South Carolina; Tony Humphries of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two nieces, Lisa Dasta of Columbia, South Carolina and Tania Humphries of Greer, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mathis was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Ledford and Peggy Mathis - Humphries.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, from, 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM, at Seawright Funeral Chapel, conducted by Dr. Reggie Parker. Military Honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
