Willie Oscar "Ott" Geer

Wellford, SC---Willie Oscar "Ott" Geer, 80, of 125 Roper Road Wellford, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. Born in Rutherfordton, NC on November 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Grady Orville and Nell (Champion) Geer. Mr. Geer was the husband of the late Mrs. Evelyn (Buff) Geer and worked as a construction foreman. He is survived by one son, Joey Buff of Spartanburg; three daughters, Sharon Cunningham (Larry) of Lyman, Kellie Jackson (Leslie) of Wellford and Karen Melton (Wayne) of Wellford; one brother, Bob Geer (Janet) of Kentucky; two sisters, Judy Scruggs of Union Mills, NC and Lois Toney of Forest City, NC; along with five grandchildren, Monique, Josh, Reagan, Ashlyn and Summer and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Max Geer. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Calvary Road Baptist Church, 108 Bright Rd. Greer, SC 29650. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Wayne Gassaway and Rev. Michael Joe Harvel officiating. Burial will be in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery, 1743 Chase High Rd. Forest City, NC 28043. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is a the home.
