Mrs. Willie Mae (Solesbee) Garrett, 81, of 1261 Little Mountain Road died Monday, July 18th, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Spartanburg County on July 14, 1930, the daughter of the late Wily and Pearl Clayton Solesbee and was the widow of Walter C. Garrett II. She was a homemaker who loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Jean Spicer and her husband Robert, Sandra Garrett, two sons; Wayne Garrett and his wife Nancy, Wally Garrett; a step son, Mark Fowler and wife Patty, a step daughter, Cindy Sweat, and her husband all of Inman; two sisters, Frankie Jo Henderson and her husband Don of Holly Springs, SC, Faye Morgan and her husband Jack of Lyman, SC and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Mills and a son, Walter Charlie "Chuck" Garrett, III.
The family is at the home of Dean Fowler and also at the home of a daughter Jean Spicer. They will receive friends Thursday , July 21, 2011, one hour before the services at Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at the church at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 21st, with Rev. Ansel Norris and Rev. Chris Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
