William Berry "Bill" Thomas, 80, of Melbourne, Florida died Saturday, June 30, 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Thomas, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Steans, daughter-in-law, Jane Thomas, grandchildren, Caroline Thomas and Elizabeth Crocker and husband Daniel, and sisters, Margery Little and Betty Oliver.
He was predeceased by his son, Berry Thomas and his parents, James Franklin and Lavinia Clary Thomas.
Mr. Thomas served on the USS Ranger during WWII. He retired from the Air Force Reserves and from the Federal Service with more than 35 years of service. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, a 33rd degree Mason, belonging to the Harbor City Masonic Lodge and a member of Harbor City Order of the Eastern Star of Melbourne. He was also a past Master of Royal Palm Masonic Lodge and a past Patron of Ad Astra OES of Homestead, Florida.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00am on Monday, July 9, 2007 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Kenny McDowell.Masonic rites and military honors will be performed at the graveside. The family will receive friends Monday, July 9, 2007 9:00am until 10:30am at Seawright Funeral Home.
