William R "Billy" Brown


William R. "Billy" Brown passed away August 20, 2026 at his home in Campobello, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Bill and Katherine Brown.

Billy was a Licensed Residential Contractor and a retired Software Engineer. He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where he had previously served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, also a member of the Campobello Fire Department and received Spartanburg County Firefighter of the Year in 1991.

Billy enjoyed working with his hands, jigsaw puzzles and telling endless "Billy Jokes". He was a kind, caring, Christian man who loved fiercely and lived boldly. He was always ready to lend a helping hand however he could in any way he could.

Billy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Pack Brown, his son, Justin (Sally) Brown of Lexington, SC, his daughter, Mollie Brown of Boiling Springs, SC, his grandchildren, Jay, Betsy, and Lucy Brown of Lexington, SC, and his sister, Patti Bragg of Inman. He was also survived by his in-laws or who he lovingly called his "out-laws", mother-in-law Faye Pack of Campobello, brothers in law, Ronnie Pack of Campobello, Lonnie (Sandra) Pack of Campobello and sister in law, Linda Pack of Anderson, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August, 23, 2026 at Seawright Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Michael Bragg and Rev. Jeremiah Childers. The family will receive friends following the service at Seawright Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Ezekiel Ministries, 1414 Lady St. Suite 212, Columbia, SC 29201 (an after school children's mentoring program), Habitat for Humanity, or your favorite charity.
