Our lives were forever changed on Monday, October 27, 2014, with the passing of William Michael (Myke) McKenzie. Myke, 64, was the son of William E. (Sandy) and Martha Gregory McKenzie.
In addition to his parents, Myke is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Scott McKenzie; his three children, Jordan, Brandon and Morgan; his brothers and sisters, Stanley (Lynne), Mark (Janice) and Glen McKenzie and Joy McKenzie Bishop (Barry) and Janet McKenzie Sanders; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Myke's band, The Greenfield Excursion, played at music festivals held at The Music Camp. He was always such a kind, friendly soul, and his smile could fill a room. He had a quick wit and loved a good pun.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 1, from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at Ben Avon Baptist Church at 2437 Wallace Avenue. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Richard King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William Michael McKenzie Memorial Fund, c/o Karen McKenzie, Suntrust Bank, 1742 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
