William B. "Bill" James, Sr., 82, of 1584 State Park Road, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, in Columbia, South Carolina. Bill was born in Pacolet Mills, South Carolina on May 12, 1934, a son of the late George Phifer James and Martha Arietta Brackins James. He was the husband of Jeanette Frazier James. Mr. James was a retired Deputy Sheriff with the Miami- Dade Police Department with 32 years of service. He was also a United States Navy Veteran, a mason, a member of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association and of the Baptist faith.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jeanette Frazier James, of the home; three daughters, Becky Iacuone and her husband Steve, of Palm Harbor, Florida; Julie Rizzuto and her husband Dan, of Safety Harbor, Florida; Pam Papaleo and her husband Dominick, of Palm Harbor, Florida; a son, William B. "Bill" James, Jr. and his wife Cynthia, of Gaffney, South Carolina; a brother, Clyde Eckle James, of Pacolet, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, William James and his wife Alex, Tiffany Iacuone, Steven Iacuone, Philip Kesner, Jacquelyn Kesner, Ryan Hernandez, Logan Hernandez and his wife Brooklynn and Frankie Colaprete.
In addition to his parents, Mr. James was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Kesner; a sister, Ivey Lucille Pugh and a brother, Ralph James.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Glendale Baptist Church in Glendale, South Carolina conducted by Rev. Daniel Blackwell. Visitation will immediately follow the service in the church sanctuary.
