Rev. William B. Derr
Rev. William B. Derr, 84, of 119 Swain Ave. Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 7th, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Derr was born in Sunbury, PA on April 13, 1923, the son of the late William B. and Loretta (Wert) Derr and was the husband of Mary (Howard) Derr.
During his ministry, he served at Pilgrim Holiness in Jersey Shore, PA, Home Missionary Work in Levittown, PA, Pilgrim Holiness in Bridgeton, NJ, Parkway Wesleyan in Staunton, VA and North Garden Wesleyan in Greenville, SC.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by two daughters,
Cynthia Derr Rawley and her husband Allen of Spartanburg, SC, Lauretta Derr Spivey and her husband Earl J. of Conway, SC; two sons, Darryl L. Derr and his wife Gloria of Loving, TX,and Meredith G. Derr of Greenwich, CT; three brothers, William B. Derr of Mantua, NJ, Calvin Derr and his wife Dixie of Manheim, PA and Robert Derr and his wife of Alice of Warminster, PA; two sisters Hazel Derr Wynn of Levittown, PA and Helen Derr Zerbe of Danville, PA; and ten grandchildren. Eleven brothers and sisters predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at Davis Chapel Wesleyan Church at 11 AM on Friday, April 11th, with Rev. Howard Smith and Rev. Earl J. Spivey, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
