Wilburn Ernest McCarter

Wilburn Ernest McCarter, 90, of 301 Water Oak Street, Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at White Oak Manor, Spartanburg.
Wilburn was born in Gramling, SC on September 7, 1922, a son of the late Gentry and Leola (Hammett) McCarter and was the widower of Ruby (Pittman) McCarter. He retired from Cryovac, was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Duncan, SC and served in the U.S. Navy in WW II.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Wofford, of Wellford; four brothers, Harry James McCarter, Dean McCarter, Ray McCarter, Larry McCarter, all of Inman, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Hammett, one sister and one brother.
The family will receive friends Saturday 1:00 — 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 16th, with Rev Sam Hammett and Rev Henry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Holston Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, P0 Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
