Wilbur Lee Hall

Wilbur Lee Hall, 75, of 146 Belvedere Drive, passed away Saturday, July 4th, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Hall was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 3, 1939, a son of the late Horace Dean and Annie Lee Pittman Hall. He was the husband of Peggy (Ridings) Hall and had celebrated over 55 years of marriage. He was a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church and had served as a security guard at "The Hangar" for five years. He served as a deacon for three years at Alverson Grove Baptist Church and also at Davis Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a mason and member of the Fairforest Masonic Lodge and the Lone Oak Order of the Eastern Star. He had retired from textiles as an electrician and was an air-conditioning technician .After retirement Mr. Hall remained active and worked as a meatcutter with Winn-Dixie. Mr. Hall was also a graduate of the Casey Creek Bible Institute, a licensed pastor and a volunteer Reserve Officer with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Dept. In 1992 he was named the Reserve Officer of the Year.
The family decribes him as a loving father and husband who loved his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife Peggy, is a son Dustin Hall and his wife Ashley of Lyman, SC, two brothers, Dean Hall and his wife Lib, Jerry Hall and his wife Kelly, two sisters, Pat Blanton, Becky Meeks all of Spartanburg, and four grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, Jaxon and Kinsley Hall. Mr. Hall was predeceased by a daughter, Tonya Diane Hall and a brother, Jimmy Hall.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Spartanburg First Baptist Church Chapel with a service following at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Sal Barone, Rev. Joe Geddes and Mr. Al Clark. The Fellowship Sunday School Class are requested to serve as Honorary Escort. The interment will be held in the Lake Bowen Baptist Church Cemetery in Inman, SC and will include the "Trinity Dove Release". The family will be at his home. Donations may be made to the: D.C.I.
