Wayne Corn

Inman, SC--- Andrew Wayne Corn, 78, of 191 Corn Road, passed away Thursday, July 26th, at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. Born in Spartanburg County on February 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Thelma (Horton) and Andy Franklin Corn and was the husband of Mrs. Jean (Morris) Corn having celebrated 52 years of marriage. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked as a blacksmith and a farrier for more than 50 years. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and was the Sunday School Teacher for the Men's Class. In addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by a son, Keith Corn and his wife Robbin of Campobello; one daughter, Patti Corn of Inman; two brothers, Lonnie Corn and his wife Ruth Ann of Inman and Glenn Corn and his wife Barbara of Campobello; and six grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Jordan, Joseph, Jonah and Jacob. He was predeceased by one sister, Geraldine Owens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Inman, SC, with Rev. John Parker and Rev. Randall Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and the Men's Sunday School Class at Rock Hill Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Escorts. In addition to flowers memorials may be made to Rock Hill Baptist Church, 2740 Bishop Road Inman, SC 29349. The family is at the home of Keith and Robbin Corn, 65 Tyson Rd. Campobello, SC 29322.
