Robert Wayne Bishop, 65, of 204 Fern Drive died unexpectedly Sunday, April 27th, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Wayne was born in Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg, SC on April 27, 1949. He was the youngest son of his best friend and father the late Robert Lee Bishop and his loving mother the late Margaret (Alverson) Bishop. Wayne was a graduate of Chapman High School and served his country in the US Air Force from 1969 to 1975 . He served overseas in Okinawa during the Vietnam War and attended USC Spartanburg .Wayne enjoyed his work and was an accomplished plumber in the Charlotte, NC area for years including at PTL. He was also a longtime member of Inman Mills Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacy Leigh Bishop of Inman, SC, Amber Bishop of Honea Path, SC, a brother, John B. Bishop and his wife Michele of Spartanburg, SC and four grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Trey and Dakota.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Seawright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hames officiating.The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home one hour before the service. The family is at their respective homes.
