Waitsel "Bill" Henderson
Waitsel Poole "Bill" Henderson, 92, of Sunset Beach, NC, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Sandpiper Nursing and Rehab Center in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A native of Landrum, SC, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Ila Kelley Henderson. Mr. Henderson was married to the late Christine Payne Henderson. Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during WW II. He was a retired electrician with the Electrical Worker's Union, Local #26 in Washington, DC and worked with the construction of the Alaskan Pipeline. Later in life he became an avid fisherman, hunter and world traveler. Bill is survived by a sister, Cornelia Lee Martin of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Bob Lee Henderson of Wellford, SC, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by two brothers; Wayne and John Henderson and one sister; Marjorie Henderson. A graveside service will be held at Ft. Prince Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 with Rev. Mitch Crow officiating. The family is at their respective homes.
