Vonda Lee Cole Barnwell, 85, wife of Paul J. Barnwell of Inman, departed this life on September 30, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Robert Cole and Oleta Huggins Cole Moore of Campobello. A graduate of Chapman High School, Spartanburg Junior College and Limestone College, she received her Masters in Education from Converse College and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of Inman First Baptist Church serving in many roles-Sunday school teacher, WMU director, Operation Christmas Child coordinator, nursing home ministry, etc.
Survivors include two sons and their wives: Marcus and Rebecca Barnwell of Charlotte, NC; Craig and Sam Barnwell of Campobello: five grandchildren: Dustin and Leah Jane Barnwell of Raleigh, NC, Tyler and Eliza Barnwell of Inman, Jessica and Jade Costen of Raleigh, NC, Elisha and George Boggs of Clarksville, Ga, Micah and Maria Swett of Matthews, NC, and 15 great-grandchildren: a sister, LaVada Barnwell and husband, Larry: and a brother, Jack Cole.
Visitation will be held at Seawright Funeral Home, Inman, from 11:00 to 12:00 Oct 4, 2023. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. Family burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inman First Baptist Church, Operation Christmas Child, (mission project) 14 North Howard St. Inman, SC 29349.
