Mrs. Vivian Weaver White, 90, of Rosecrest Retirement Community in Inman, SC formerly of 254 California Ave. Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at the Smith Phayer Hospice Home in Landrum, SC.
Mrs. White was a proud native of Green Creek, N.C. and was born November 25, 1918, the daughter of the late John D. and Charlotte (Flynn) Weaver. She was the widow of Robert A. "Bob" White. She was currently a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church and was a member of the Young At Heart Group at the church and the Deborah Sunday School Class. She was an honor graduate of Green Creek High School Class of 1937. She was awarded a scholarship to Gardner Webb University, was an artist, an avid flower gardener, a seamstress, and family historian writer and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Robert A. White, Jr. and his wife Dee of Campobello, SC, Dan White and his wife Melinda of Lake Norman, NC, and a sister, Esther W. Waldrop. Mrs. White was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Weaver and Joe Weaver and a sister Mavis W. Fulbright.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 12. 2009 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel in Inman, SC
Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Bill Adams and Rev. Sal Barone officiating.
The graveside committal service and interment will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 at the Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery in Green Creek, NC Immediately after the committal service a reception in honor of Mrs. White will be held at the Green River Plantation, 6333 Coxe Rd. Rutherfordton, NC.
The family is at their respective homes.
