Virginia Kay Ballenger Testor, 73, of 197 Stallion Road Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Spartanburg, SC on September 11, 1948, a daughter of Clara Janell (Brown) Ballenger of Inman and the late Horace Ray Ballenger.
She was first married to the late Charles Stephenson Smith and was the wife of Charles Phillip Testor.
Kay received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, her Nursing Degree from USC Upstate and her MBA Degree from Gardner-Webb University.
She worked as a registered nurse, was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and was a member of the choir.
In addition to her mother and her husband, she is also survived by two daughters, Cindy Brown and her husband Thomas of Sunset, South Carolina and Melisa Deel and husband Gerry of Inman, South Carolina; three brothers, Jimmy Ballenger and his wife Janet of Inman, South Carolina, Roy Ballenger and his wife Ann of Inman, South Carolina and Kenny Ballenger of Inman, South Carolina and one sister, Joy Owens and her husband Roger of Inman, South Carolina along with five grandchildren, Ian, Alex, Collin, Taylor and Jacob.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, South Carolina with Rev. Chris Ellenburg officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
