Virginia Oveda Blackwell Mahaffey, 77, of 12 West Clark Road, Inman, SC, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care. Virginia was born in Spartanburg, SC on July 29, 1936, a daughter of the late Cora Esther (McKelvey) Blackwell and William Henry Blackwell and was the widow of Roy Mahaffey. She retired from Inman Mills and was of the Baptist Faith. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Peggy Davis, of Spartanburg; Betty Christopher, of Inman; two sisters, Anna Newman, of Inman; Emma Grace Brown, of Inman; a brother, Joseph Charles Blackwell, of Columbus, NC, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Arnold Henry Blackwell, The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends today, December 8, 2013 from 3:00 — 5:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2013 conducted by Rev Carlton Hames. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
