Virginia Bell Aune, 84, of 104 Periwinkle Place in Moore, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, S.C.
Virginia was born in Long Island, New York on December 21, 1935, daughter of the late Blanche LaTourette Bell and Walter Bell. She was the widow of Victor Andre Aune.
She had attained her BA in nursing and received her Master's Degree in business from Simmon's College in Boston, MA. She retired as assistant chief of staff at the Veteran's Hospital in Newington, Conn. Virginia was an avid and talented quilter, some real estate after retiring, became a foster parent for sick and special needs children, loved sailing and ballroom dancing, as well as rehabbing old houses. Virginia loved to travel and enjoyed spending summers in Ireland with dear friends. The ocean was her peaceful place, and she was everyone's favorite aunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Aune of Moore, her son, David Aune of Inman, a brother, Francis Allen Bach and his wife Annette of Florida, her sisters in law, Ida Bach of Florida and Elise "Imp" Russo of New York, two grandsons, Daniel Aune and Michael Aune, and a number of nieces and nephews who were all very special to her. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a brother, Richmond Bell and a sister, Lorraine Miller.
Interment in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY will be private and at the convenience of the family .
