Mrs. Vertie Mae Ridings Cothran, 85, of 59 Blackstock Road, Inman passed away Monday, April 5th, 2010 at Camp Care Nursing Home in Inman
Mrs. Cothran was born in Fingerville, SC on December 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Bloomfield and Ophie Mae (Johnson) Ridings. She was the widow of Billy Y Cothran, Sr..
She retired from District One Schools, was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg and graduated from New Prospect High School.
She is survived by 5 sons: Billy Y Cothran, Jr and wife Carolyn, Ludy Thomas Cothran and wife Tammy, Kenneth Ray Cothran and wife Renee, Christopher David Cothran and wife Wadette, Eddie Eugene Cothran, all of Inman, one sister: Louvenia R Alverson of Boiling Springs, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of her son Kenny, 2410 Old Mill Road, Inman and will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7th, with Dr Michael Hamlet officiating.
