Vernon Harman Poteat, 81, of 9710 Asheville Highway Inman, passed away Monday, March 5th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Vernon was born in Spartanburg on December 2, 1930, a son of the late Annie Ruth Harmon Poteat and Claude Vance Poteat.
He was the husband of Elizabeth "Lib" Mosley Poteat and was self-employed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth Poteat of Inman, two granddaughters, Sara and Emma Poteat and one great granddaughter, Arianna Poteat, all of Inman. He was predeceased by a son, Mark, and three brothers, Marvin, Bud, and Allen.
Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 11:OOam on Wednesday, March 7th, with Rev. Gene Prince and Rev. Joe Mosley officiating.
The family request that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to Dove Assembly 590 Mt. Zion Road Spartanburg, SC 29303.
