Vernon “Vern” Charles Moseley, 96, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, S.C.

Vernon was born in Le Roy, New York on June 12, 1925, a son of the late Lucille (Pangrazio) Moseley Sprague and Charles Moseley.

He was the widower of Rosaleen (Young) Moseley and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Vernon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and known within his family and close friends as a superb cook, mister fix-it, and mentor.

Vernon is survived by one son, Craig D. Moseley, Sr., (Debbie) of Manassas, VA; daughter Susan M. Green (Bruce) of Chesapeake, VA; and daughter Jodi L. Viehman of Boiling Springs, SC; a brother, Dane Sprague (Corrine) of LeRoy, NY, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Lt. Col. Vernon Moseley, USAF Retired, proudly served our country in the US Air Force for 27 years as a Pilot, Instructor Pilot, Personnel Officer, and Operations Officer. He continued serving our country for another 16 plus years as a pilot and manager for the Central Intelligence Agency.

Vernon was also an Assistant Scout Master and Scout Master in the 1960’s. He was a member of American Legion, and member of the local MOAA (Military Officers Association of America). He was an Amateur Radio Operator (HAM) and served as a Net Control Operator for over 20 years with the Recreational Vehicle (RV) Service Net, as well as a longtime member of the Woodbridge Wireless Inc. Amateur Radio Club in Virginia. Vern was also a cherished member of the Little Indians Chapter of the Pontiac Oakland Collectors International (POCI) car club.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Peter Waid officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
