Inman, SC---Mrs. Vera Ellen Zimmerman Conrad, 93, of Golden Age Nursing Home in Inman went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 12th, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, SC on December 3, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Burnett and Ethel (Wright) Zimmerman and widow of the late Eldon Eugene Conrad.
Mrs. Conrad was member of Ingleside Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Larry Conrad and his wife Teresa of Inman; one grandson, Travis Conrad of Inman; two sisters, Frances Turner of Duncan and Jessie Hudson of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by her close friends, Mildred, Hoyet and Lillian.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 1 :OOPM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman with Rev. Everette Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Golden Age Nursing Home, Activities Department, 82 N. Main Street, Inman, SC 29349.
To the staff of Golden Age Nursing Home, the family would like to express their appreciation for all the wonderful care given to Mrs. Conrad during the past ten years and to the Nurses and PCA's on the 4th Floor Tower at Spartanburg Regional for the care and love that they showed toward her in her last days.
