Spartanburg, SC---Velma Jean Earley Corn "Nonie", 92, of 4121 N. Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at her residence.
Born in Avondale, North Carolina on December 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Martha Ettabell (Metcalf) Earley and Thomas H. Earley. She was the wife of the late Wade Jefferson Corn having celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing.
She was a member of Una First Free Will Baptist Church and retired as office manager at Upton's Department Store at Westgate Mall.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee Corn Edgins, of Fairforest, SC; a son, Stephen W. Corn, of Fairforest, SC; two sisters, Ellen Roemer, of Texas and Faye Ballard, of Alabama; a brother, Charles Earley, of Richmond, VA. ; two grandchildren, Larry Jeffery Edgins, Kristy Edgins Mills and husband, Dean, four great, grandchildren, Danielle Edgins Walker and husband, Dusty of Chesnee, SC, Brianna Mills and Brandon Mills, both of Cooley Springs, SC and Elijah Edgins Hyatt of Boiling Springs, SC.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon in the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Cash officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to: Una First Freewill Baptist Church building fund,2130 Caldwell Road, Una, SC 29378. The family is at the home, 4121 N. Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
