Velma Scott Amling, 79, of 914 East Emerald Springs Drive, Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Velma was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey on August 9, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Clarence Stiles Scott and Virginia Giberson Scott. She was the widow of the late Frank Amling and was an active member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. She was a bank teller for years and an accountant with Telepro Industries, Inc. where she met her husband, Frank. She also enjoyed working in the school lunch rooms when she lived in New Jersey.
Velma was a fun loving and generous person who loved children. She enjoyed devoting her time to her family, church and her community. She loved her Bible Fellowship Class at First Baptist North Spartanburg and volunteered with the children's ministries and the Awana program. She had always volunteered at the other baptist and methodist churches they attended in N.J. Velma lived an active lifestyle and loved nature. Her and her husband Frank raised goats and enjoyed traveling to the shows with their family throughout the region.
She is survived by three daughters: Regina Amling of Spartanburg, SC, Julia Amling of Texas, Jena Parmanand and her husband Chris of Tucson, Arizona, five grandchildren: Erin, Tripp, Austin, Poppy and Kal-El and one great- grandchild, Elijah.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 at the First Baptist North Spartanburg foyer with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary conducted by Rev. Dwayne Morris.
