Thomas "Poppy" Soper

Thomas Allen "Poppy" Soper, 57, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany on April 20, 1964, he was a son of the late Lola Mae (Trusty) Soper and Samuel Lawrence Soper Sr. and was the husband of Candie Sue (Quillen)Soper having celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Thomas was of the Baptist faith, served in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War, was a sales manager with George M. Hill and Sons for 9 years and owned Southern Polishing from 2000-2015.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Victoria L. Ernest (Timothy Cogdill) of Spartanburg, SC, Tiffany R. Phillips (Robert) of Spartanburg, SC and Dominique N. McKellar of Greenwood, SC; two sons, Cameron J. Soper (Shelby) of Inman, SC and Michael J. Soper of Greenwood, SC; five brothers, Walter E. Soper of Augusta, GA. David C. Soper of Aiken, SC, Donald M. Soper of Spartanburg, SC, Kenneth W. Soper (Kimberly) of Helena, AR and Carl E. Soper (Vickie) of Batesville, SC; two sisters, Beverly J. Matthews of Forrest City, AR and Carla Hennett of Spartanburg, SC; eleven grandchildren, Kage Phillips, Quillen "Quinn" Phillips, Lakin Phillips, Canaan Soper, Madilyn Toplovich, Kali Amato, Lana Amato, Bentley Blackwelll, Sophia Phillips, Roe Phillips and Mason Jones along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his stepmother, Lois B. Soper, mother-in-law, Elva Quillen, father-in-law, Ray Quillen, brother, Samuel L. Soper, Jr., two nephews, Michael Shane Roberts and Donald Soper, Jr., three sister-in-laws, Patsy Soper, Mary Soper and Karen Soper

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC with Rev. Dennis Garner, Rev. Arvie Bennett, Jr. and Mr. Todd Ramella officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Boiling Springs Post #200.
