Thomas Dean Koob, 71, of 201 Payne Street Tryon, NC, passed away Thursday, April 12th, at his residence. Thomas was born in Salida, Colorado on July 7, 1946; He was a son of Dorothy Jean Carter Koob of Inman and the late Leonard Paul Koob.
Thomas was a Lutheran and following high school, he received his Master's Degree in Mathematics. He retired from Met Life Insurance Company as a computer technician and following his retirement taught at Blue Ridge Community College in Hendersonville, NC. He enjoyed gardening, animals, was a good friend to those who mknew him, enjoyed cross word puzzles, and cooking, although some say he was better at math than cooking.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister; Janella Lane (George) of Inman, a brother; Gary Koob of Inman, and two step children; India and Briana Lamb.
A memorial service will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2018, conducted by Rev. Voges. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
