Thelma Etta Roddy

Thelma Etta Barnette Roddy, 94, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at White Oak North Grove.
Born in Spartanburg County on October 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Mae (Smith) Barnette and Leonard Barnette and was the wife of the late William "Bill" Roddy. She was also predeceased by three brothers, James Barnette, Robert Barnette and Harold Barnette.
Mrs. Roddy worked in textiles and was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Velma Roddy Atkinson and her husband Vernon of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one step-brother, Hank Barnette; two grandchildren, Warren Atkinson and his wife Reynolds and Paul Atkinson along with three great grandchildren, Molly Atkinson, Madison Childress and Kent Childress.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Springhill Memorial Park in Chesnee, South Carolina with Rev. Brad Atkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Lake Bowen Baptist Church, 404 Sugar Ridge Rd. Inman, South Carolina 29349.
