Thelma Melton Hannon, 91, of 4 A Street, Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 29th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Thelma was born in Rutherford County, NC on May 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Mae (Colley) and Robert Vance Melton and was the widow of John Thomas Hannon, Sr.. She retired from Inman Mills and was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church. Thelma is survived by six daughters, Joann Hannon Singleton, of Lake Wateree, SC; Betty Hannon Wood, of Roebuck; Ruth Hannon Parker, of Gaffney; Sandra Hannon Bryant, of Inman; Elaine Hannon, of Greer; Doris Hannon of Inman, five sons John Thomas Hannon, Jr, of Spartanburg; Steven Wayne Hannon, of Greenville; William David Hannon, of California; Carroll Dean Hannon, of Japan; Walter Ray Hannon, of Landrum. Thelma is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC, at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31st, with Rev. Jack Hames officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. The family is at her home.
