Inman, SC---Thomas Ray Ravan, 87, of 6090 New Cut Road Inman, passed away Wednesday, July 22nd, at Inman Healthcare.
Ray was born in on January 29, 1928, a son of the late Myrtle (Blackwell) and Sam Ravan and was the husband of Minnie Lee Ravan following 69 years of marriage.
He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church and Foothills Tractor Club. He retired from Inman Mills where he was a mechanic for all of the plants. Ray also was a farmer and did small engine repair. He was a founding commissioner for Inman Community Fire Department and founding member Fork Road Grange.
In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by two daughters; Dianne R. Brown, wife of Vince Brown of Inman,
Sharon R. Bateman, widow of Bill Bateman of Inman, a sister; Ruby Henderson Skinner of Inman, six grandchildren; Kelly Ravan Taylor, Summer Brown Arias, Corey V. Brown, Briana R. Bateman, Ashton P. Bateman, Grayson W. Bateman; six great grandchildren; Jaden Arias, Tyler Arias, Isabella Woods, Carsyn Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Lincoln Taylor; and various nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son; Donald Ray Ravan; a sister; Mabel Bruce and brother Boyce Lee Ravan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 24, 2015 at Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Donnan Lawson and Rev. Joe White. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Seawright Funeral Home. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens will be private.
