Dr. Steven Early Ballew, 71, of Arlington, Virginia and Sarasota, Florida died April 27, 2017. He was a District of Columbia attorney and was formerly of Inman, SC. He was the son of the late Paul and Mildred Jenkins Ballew and was the husband of Dr. Bob Rappaport. He is survived by a sister, Paulette Ballew Hill of Inman, SC: niece and nephews, Mary Luker, David Hill, and Rev. Thomas Hill, as well as grand nieces and nephews; extended family members and numerous friends. A funeral mass was held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D. C.
A visitation will be held at the home of his sister, Paulette Hill on June 2, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. Her address is 12641 Asheville Hwy., Inman, SC 29349. A brief committal will follow at 2:00 PM in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1451 Compton Bridge Rd., Inman, SC with Deacon Robert Donofrio of the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior officiating. It was Steve's desire that in lieu of flowers gifts be made to the charity of one's choice in his name.
