Shirley Jean Walker, 76, daughter of the late Robert L & Janet Collins Walker of Inman, SC passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Rutherfordton, NC. Shirley was born on November 20, 1935 in Greenville, SC but spent most of her younger years in Lumpkin, GA. She graduated from Stewart County High School in Lumpkin. She attended college at Andrews College in Cuthbert, GA, Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC and art school in Charlotte, NC. She was a talented artist and was entered in many art shows. Shirley was employed at Janet's Cloth Shop in Inman for a number of years and was a former member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by an uncle: William A Walker and an aunt: Jackie Walker of Columbus, NC and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held today: Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the Seawright Funeral Home. A private burial will be at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349
