Shirley Goings Tipton, 77, of 213 Cherokee Ridge Drive, Gaffney, SC, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at her home. Shirley was born in Wellford, SC on January 15, 1941, a daughter of the late Martin and Evelyn (Ramsey) Goings. She was the widow of Everette L Tipton, Sr.. She was a former employee of Hoechst Celanese and retired from Phillips Fibers and was of the Baptist faith. Shirley is survived by a daughter, Katie T Owensby (Sack), of Cowpens; two sons Leon Tipton, Jr (Kelly Campbell), of Gaffney; Jimmy L Tipton (Claudette), of Cowpens, seven grandchildren, Everette L Tipton, III, Laura Warren (Thomas Gordon, fiance'), Michelle T Hall (Wesley), Joshua M Tipton (Christina), Alisha Tipton, Terry N Owensby, Josh R Owensby, and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John M Tipton and a grandson, Jason Owensby. The family is at their respective homes. Services are private.
