Shirley Ann Loyd

Shirley Ann Loyd, 85, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at her residence. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on August 21, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Agnes Lee (Morgan) Gossett and Alfred Louis Gossett.

Shirley was of the Baptist faith, and loved spending time reading her bible, spending time with her grandkids, talking to her sisters on the phone, and shopping on QVC. She loved southern food, with her favorite being, cornbread and pinto beans. 

She is survived by a son, Keith Scoggins (Kristen); three sisters, Shelby Hayes (Chuck), Wanda Stafford (Billy), and Kathy Bishop and two grandchildren, Taylor Scoggins and Carrie Scoggins.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Maxie Loyd, a sister Shelia Bishop, a brother Ray Gossett, a son Wayne Scoggins, and a daughter Debbie Scoggins.

Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, South Carolina with Rev. Joe White officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
