Scott Wade Poteat, 54, of 159 Hampton Rd Lyman, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his residence. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on March 27, 1967, he was the son of Patricia Pressley Poteat of Chesnee, SC the late Marvin Poteat.
He was the husband of Angie Thompson Poteat having been together for 39 years.
Scott was employed with Furman Babb Paint Contractors and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Patricia and his wife, Angie, he is also survived by two sons, Michael Poteat and his wife Chelsey of Lyman, SC and Austin Poteat of Lyman, SC; two brothers, Eddie Poteat of Spartanburg, SC and Paul Poteat of Boiling Springs, SC and four grandchildren, Celeste Poteat, Michael Poteat, II, Gabe Poteat and Nick Poteat.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at 1410 Old Furnace Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made: Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, 900 S. Pine Street, Suite F, Spartanburg, SC, 29302.
