Sarah Elizabeth Mahaffey, 77, of 140 Compton Road, Campobello, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016. Sarah was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 24, 1939, a daughter of the late Edna Harris Rhymer and Woodrow Rhymer and she was the wife of Robert R Mahaffey. She was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from Arrow Automotive. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter; Jane Bodway (Perry Ringlein) of Hendersonville, NC, a son; Randy Mahaffey of Campobello, a grandson; Phillip Bodway (Julia Petty Bodway) of Greenville, two sisters; Susie Condrey of Campobello, Linda Anderson of Duncan, two brothers; Marion Rhymer of Inman, and Billy Rhymer of Campobello. She was predeceased by a brother, Charlie Rhymer and a sister, Joyce White. The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday 2:00 until 3:00 at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 on Thursday, December 8th, with Rev. Michael Owenby officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills 130 Forest Glen Drive Columbus, NC 28722.
