Sarah Ramsey George, 96, of 6 Birch Street, Inman, SC, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Sarah was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 7, 1917, a daughter of the late E.C. and Noler (Hampton) Ramsey. She was the widow of Horace George and retired from Inman Mills.
She was a dedicated member of Inman Mills Baptist Church and was a member of the TEL Sunday school class and was the oldest member of the choir. She also worked for years in the children's ministry.
Sarah is survived by a daughter, Ann Whitaker (Herman), of Inman; a son, Ronnie George (Jean), of Inman; a brother, Bob Ramsey (Helen), of Tampa, FL., two grandchildren, Amanda Blackwell (Gabriel), of Inman, Dr . J Todd George of Atlanta, two great grandchildren, Sarah-Ann Blackwell and soon to arrive, Sailor Grace Blackwell and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Inez Hipp and seven brothers, Clyde, Clarence, Ernest, J.C., Ralph, Jack and E.C. Ramsey, Jr.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Inman Mills Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jack Hames officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman Mills Baptist Church, 22 B St. Inman, SC 29349.
