Inman, SC---Sarah Frances "Fran" King Davis, 91, of 451 Geddis Road, Inman, SC, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Fran was born in Decatur, Georgia on April 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Ephraim and Willie Lee (Mays) King. She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and was the executive director of the Inman Chamber of Commerce and was a seamstress. She was also a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star and a member of the Inman Rotary Club. Fran was an active member of her community and church all of her life. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She taught Children's Sunday School, worked in Good News Club at Inman Elementary. Served snacks at the Upward games every Saturday. She volunteered at the Hospice House in Landrum and Faithfully visited her church members and friends in the nursing home. She welcomed thousands of visitors to the Holston Creek Bethlehem Walk in December handing out coins to "pay your taxes!" She was an energetic square dancer, a faithful companion to her pastor for weekly visitation. She was one of the original organizers of The Harvest Day Festi val in Inman and directed it for over 15 years. She was the Grand Marshall of the Inman Christmas Parade in 2014.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosa Morris (Phillip), of Dublin, GA; Cindy Sacarelos (George), of Inman, son in law, Reggie Cox of Inman, son in law, Carlos White (Joyce) of Winston Salem, NC, grandchildren, Ed Morris (Valeri), Jeff Morris (Karen), Chris Morris (Rachael), Missy Marlow (Todd), Beth Kuykendall (Allen), Hannah Peters (Stephen), Will Sacarelos and fiance' Erica Johnson, 14 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by two daughters, Barbara Cox and Julie White along with 6 brothers and sisters. The family is at the home of her daughter, 480 Geddis Road, Inman and will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 1:30 — 2:45 PM at Holston Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow in the church at 3:00 PM with Dr. Reggie Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Rd, Inman, SC 29349.
