Sarah "Tommie" Watkins Atkins


Inman, SC

Mrs. Sarah "Tommie" Atkins, 99, of 59 Blackstock Rd. Inman, passed away Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at Camp Care Nursing Home.

Mrs. Atkins was born in Henderson County, North Carolina on February 7,1908 as the daughter of the late Ambrose and Josephine (Watson) Watkins and she was a homemaker.

She was the widow of Alonzo Atkins and a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church in Inman.

She is survived by two daughters Willodean "Billie" Suddeth of Campobello and Gail Mills of Greer, two sons F.A Atkins of Inman and Wilburn Atkins of Campobello. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren Steve, Tony, Keith Atkins, Karon Blackwell, Maxine Penfield, Marty, Mickey Atkins, Joyce Cartee, Darlene Atkins, Geraldene Skinner, Marlene Vanhoose, Debbie Ravan, Lynn Wright, Jonathon Atkins, Laura McKeller, Lonnie and Tommy Mills and Marie Trammell, thirty- three great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons John Robert, Mack and HD. Atkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 AM Saturday October 27,2007 at Seawright Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Donnan Lawson, Rev. Reggie Parker and Rev.Chuck Mullinax officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Bright, Benny Watkins, Jonathan Atkins, Shane Vanhoose, Preston Skinner and Gary Ravan.
Burial will follow in Holston Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of her daughter Willodean "Billie" Suddeth at 8340 New Cut Rd. Campobello, and will receive friends on Friday, October 26 from 7 until 8:30 P.M. at Seawright Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills 130 Forest Glen Drive Columbus, NC 28722 or Holston Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 311 Holston Creek Church Rd Inman, SC 29349 or Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund 705 Hwy 14-West, Landrum, SC.
