Sara Ruth Babb, 87, of 200 Gallman Road, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her residence. Sara was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on July 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Champion and Ruth Nellie Chapman Champion. She was the widow of Alvin Otis Babb. Mrs. Babb was retired from Morningside Baptist Church and was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where she was a member of the TEL Sunday School class and the Senior Adult Club.
Survivors include her God-daughters, Tracy Champion and Stacy Champion; a brother, Clautus "Champ" Champion and wife Cynthia, a sister, Calantha Holcombe, 2 nieces, 7 nephews, 8 great nieces, 7 great nephews, 3 great, great nieces and a great, great nephew. She was predeceased by a brother, Cletus Wilson Champion.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Inman Mills Baptist Church in Inman, South Carolina. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021, in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jack Hames and Rev. Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman Mills Baptist Church, 22 B Street, Inman, SC 29349.
