Sandra "Merleen" McPeters, 72, of 1720 Hanging Rock Rd went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 19, 2020. Merleen was born August 9, 1948, in Asheville, N.C, a daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel Smith. She was the widow of George McPeters, having celebrated 34 years of marriage. She was retired from medical receptionist work and loved spending time with her family and friends, working on family genealogy and completing jigsaw puzzles. She was a loyal friend and mother figure to many, well known for her laughter, hugs, and compassion.
Merleen was a member of Dependent Baptist Church in Inman. She is survived by 3 sons, Jeff and his wife Linda of Boiling Springs, Jonathan and his wife Michelle of the home, and Aaron and his wife Casey of Inman, as well as a sister Pamela Smith of Candler NC, sister-in-law Darlene McPeters of Asheville NC, and her niece Amber and her husband John Brejack. She was the loving grandmother ("Mawnie" & "Mimi") of Krystal, Cora, Adelyn, Colton, and Paisley.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman SC at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2020 conducted by Dr. Joe Geddes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 2151, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-2151.
