Stanley Mason Townsend, Jr., 65, of 160 Wick Street, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mason was born in Granite Falls, North Carolina, on September 26, 1952, a son of Stanley Mason Townsend, Sr., of Lenoir, North Carolina and the late Mary Sue Meyers Townsend. He was the widower of Donna Matthews Townsend. Mason was a retired employee with Alcoa Corporation and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two sons Jake Townsend, and his wife, Alicia, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Josh Townsend, and his wife, Lori, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a sister, Daphne Collier, and her husband, Vince, of Florida; four grandchildren, Zoe Townsend, Joscelin Townsend, Chelsea Wyatt, Zach Wyatt; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Walker; Arianna Walker and Logan Walker
In addition to his mother and spouse, Mr. Townsend was pre-deceased by a great-grandchild, Dante Walker.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mason Townsend Memorial Fund, PO Box 192, Inman, South Carolina, 29349.
