Ruth Rogers Morgan, 93, formerly of 22 Prospect St., passed away Wednesday, March 14th, at Magnolia Manor of Inman where she had been a resident for several years.
Born in Inman, S.C. on May 28, 1918, she was the daughter of the late David Eugene and Florence Elizabeth Hutchinson Rogers. She was the widow of Bernard Morgan who died in 1972 and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church. Mrs. Morgan was a graduate of Inman High School where she played basketball for Coach T. D. Stilwell. She attended Cecil's Business College in Spartanburg and later worked at Inman Flower Shop and Inman Mills. Ruth was the seventh of nine children but had no children of her own. Survivors include a brother, Ray Rogers, Sr. and a sister Miss Lucy Rogers both of Inman. There are a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Virginia Anderson, Marie Sanders, Geraldine Fisher, Lenna Owens and two brothers Tom and Hugh Rogers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Dr. Paul Moore. A visitation will be held today immediately after the service at graveside. The family is at their respective homes.
