Ruth Lawson Lister, 95, of 812 White Magnolia Dr., Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Lister was born in Inman, S.C. on May 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Howard Glen Lawson and Alma (Tinsley) Lawson. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl B. Lister.
Mrs Lister was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and served for many years as a volunteer at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in the flower receiving area.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Lister Laws of Inman, a brother, Jack Lawson and his wife Lucy of Athens, Ga., a granddaughter, Dee Jones and her husband Jonathan Jones of Inman, and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Jones. She was predeceased by a number of brothers, one sister and a son-in-law, Harold Laws.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, 2015 at Seawright Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by her pastor, Rev. Scott Lewellen. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piedmont Chapter of the American Red Cross, 131 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family will be at the home.
