Ruth Skinner Burnette

Ruth Skinner Burnette of Inman, SC died May 13th, 2010 at her home. A lifelong resident of Inman, she was the widow of J. C. Burnette and a homemaker. Born May 20, 1920, Ruth was the daughter of the late Andrew and Annie Blackwell Skinner. She was the oldest member of Gramling United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ann Fryga Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a sister, Merle Bradey of Wellford, two nieces, Gayle Q. McCants and husband Theron of Reidville, SC, Melody Wright and husband Gary of Wellford , two nephews, Roger Harmon and wife Gloria of Spartanburg and Donnie Johnson and wife Brenda of Campobello. Mrs. Burnette was predeceased by four sisters, Estelle Harmon, Lucile Christman, Inez Johnson, Betty McMillan, a brother, Howard "Bill" Skinner and a nephew, Steve Quinn.
Ruth was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend and will always be remembered for her sense of humor and love of life.
A "Celebration of her life" will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Gramling United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Herlong, and Rev. David Caughman officiating. The Ann Fryga Class is to serve as Honorary Escort. Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Social Hall. Private interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. The family is at the home of Merle Bradey, 1521 Ballenger Rd., Wellford, SC
