Ruby Lee McKelvey

Ruby Lee Cantrell McKelvey, 89, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Born in Spartanburg County on May 1, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ola (Kimbrell) and Thomas Austin Cantrell and was the wife of the late Thomas Conley McKelvey.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her six children, Thomas G. McKelvey, Jean M. Carson, Elmer L. McKelvey, Larry M. McKelvey, Judy Ann Gregory and her husband David and Bobby Joe McKelvey; one brother, Ed Cantrell along with nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by three brothers; Thomas James Cantrell, Eli Norman Cantrell, and Harold Austin Cantrell, a sister; Vertie Lee Cantrell Moore, and a daughter in law, Alice Viola Berry McKelvey, wife of Elmer McKelvey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025 in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Mace officiating.  Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee, South Carolina.  

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Culbreth, Ben McKelvey, Russ Crago, Scott Martin, Packy Crago and Cadence Crago.

The family is at their respective homes.
