Ruby McDowell

Inman, SC

 Ruby McDowell, 96, of Inman, SC, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Rosecrest Retirement Community. Ruby was born in, Spartanburg on June 17, 1927. She was a daughter of the late George and Bessie(Wilson)Russell. She was the widow of Joseph L. McDowell Jr.. She is survived by two daughters Phyllis Howard and her husband Bill, and Beverly Stokes and her husband David; two grandsons, Michael Stokes and his wife Sarah, and Joseph Stokes; two great granddaughters, Emma Grace, and Lily. She was predeceased by a brother, Billy Russell, and a sister Dot Russell.

Ruby was retired from Milliken, and was a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rosecrest Retirement Community for their wonderful care. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, SC  with Rev. Sal Barone officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Private burial will be in  Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC.
