Mr. Roy Eugene Nation, 84, of 1090 Ballenger Rd Inman passed away Thursday, August 28th, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Nation was born in Easley, SC on April 14, 1924, the son of the late John D. and Annie (James) Nation and was the husband of Evelyn (McCarter) Nation.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Felicia Sherbert and husband Paul of Inman, Alicia McCurry and husband Randal of Tignall, GA, 1 brother: Fred Nation of Inman, 1 sister: Florine Clayton of Greer, 2 grandchildren: Darrell Sherbert, Amanda Smith, 2 great-grandchildren: Ethan Smith and Dylan Smith, all of Inman. He was predeceased by 2 brothers: John and Hubert Nation and 1 sister: Cecil Coleman.
He retired from Inman Mills after 45 years service and Walmart after 6 years service and was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church. Mr Nation was a licensed private pilot, founder of the Inman Rescue Squad and a member of the Columbia American Legion. He served in the US Navy in WW II and the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held at Inman Mills Baptist Church, Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 30th, with Rev. Jack Hames officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday 7-9 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home.
