Inman, SC---Roscoe Higgins, 88, of 180 Jersey Road passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his residence. Born in Yancey County, NC on June 3, 1927, a son of the late Myrtle (Byrd) and Charlie Lee Higgins and was the husband of Enzia (Blackwell) Higgins having celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Mr. Higgins was a member of the Spartanburg County Coon Hunters Association and retired from Lyman Print & Finishing after 35 years where he worked as a welder. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army, working in the Pentagon during his enlistment.
In addition to his wife, Enzia he is survived by two sons, Leonard R. Higgins and Michael Higgins both of Inman, SC; one daughter, Janice Fordree and her husband John of Inman, SC; three sisters, Virginia Harris of Spartanburg, SC, Earlene Smith of Inman, SC and Gladys Cox of Inman, SC; three grandchildren, Scott Higgins and wife Katie of Inman, SC, Ben Fordree and wife Abby of Lexington, SC and Jon Ross Fordree of Inman, SC; two great grandchildren, Blaine Higgins and Harper Fordree. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one grandson, Freddie Price; one daughter-in-law, Betty Higgins along with four sisters, two brothers.
The family is at the home and will receive friends on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel in Inman, SC at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 with Rev. Bill Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
