Ronnie "Joe" Sitton
Inman, SC
Mr. Ronnie Joe Sitton of 6 Culbreth Street, Inman went to be with his Lord on Monday morning, December 17, 2007 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ruth Ann (McElrath) Sitton for forty years.
Born in Spartanburg County on January 13, 1943, he was the son of Carl Sitton and Minnie Lee Andrews, both of whom preceded him in death.
He attended Spartanburg County schools and was employed with Lyman Mills for 38 years. More recently he was employed with Mount Vernon Mills-Arkwright.
Mr Sitton was a loving and devoted husband and father, and was loved by many family members and friends. He was also a faithful member of Inman First Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Disciples Sunday School Class.
In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by one son, Jeffrey Scott Sitton, one sister, Shirley Cooley, one half brother Dale Lefler, one aunt Catherine Buckner, and five Nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at Seawright Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held at Inman First Freewill Baptist Church, 90 Blackstock Road on Wednesday at 2 PM. Services will be conducted by Rev. Earl E. Hendrix and Rev. Paul Buckner. Immediately following the services, Mr. Sitton will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He will be Spending Christmas with Jesus this year. The family is at the home of his brother-in-law, Larry McElrath, 150 Downey Road, Inman, SC.
